Marta Zapparoli
Explores and detects the signals from the vibraphone (played by Emilio Gordoa), and their acoustic structures. Sensor microphones, ultrasonic and electromagnetic field detectors capture the electric waves produced by the instrument and its components: butterfly valves, bars, resonators, motors, damper mechanism, electric .
These frequencies, manipulated in real time with reel-to-reel-tape machines, are sent through loudspeakers at specific positions and sent back as a constant flow of sound.
Emilio Gordoa
Action, reaction and use of the space as a tool for sonic perceptions.
Creating sine tones, noises, and diversity of acoustic quality sounds by preparing the vibraphone and using extended techniques are used to generate interactive inputs. Manipulated speakers in specific positions around the room transform the waves produced by polyphonic pitches when I bow the metal bars of the vibraphone. Signals are captured by sensors that are melted through electronic process to surprise the natural catharsis of feedbacks and electronic glitches.
“Performative, intensive, electro-acoustic collaboration between two based Berliner artist. Active and confident Zapparoli and Gardo brings out they own perceptions of sound in a fucked up elegant unaesthetic use of time and space, exploring the visible of the invisible. There are plural actual forms running together, the flash of the instrument, its soul, its identity.
